To further strengthen our expertise, we recently partnered with TNO in the area of PEM test system. This will allow Avantium to offer advanced test equipment for Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysers based on many years of experience within TNO.

Under this partnership, Avantium gains access to TNO’s technical expertise in single-cell and multi-cell lab-scale electrolysis test stations, including design and software. Avantium will use this knowledge to exclusively manufacture, enhance, and sell these electrolyser test stations globally, accelerating its green hydrogen technology development.

Understanding PEM and the Importance of Small-Scale Testing

Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysis is a critical technology for hydrogen production, offering high efficiency and purity. Small-scale testing allows for precise control and optimization of parameters, minimizing costs and accelerating R&D processes.

Avantium test stations are suitable to test various types of Membrane electrode assemblies (MEA). Various types of test procedures can be used to study the performance and lifetime of membranes, bipolar plates, catalyst, catalyst coated membranes (CCM).
