Amsterdam/Thuwal, 30 October 2018: Avantium has delivered two Flowrence XD systems to KAUST Catalysis Center (KCC) in Saudi Arabia to expand their R&D capacity for heterogeneous catalyst testing.

King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) Catalysis Center (KCC) was established as a world-leading hub to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to catalysis and to address scientific challenges of the 21st century. KCC focus on developing new catalysts, new catalytic reactions and new catalytic technologies, covering heterogeneous, homogeneous, photo- and electro- catalytic processes.

Jorge Gascon, Director & Full Professor of KAUST, says: “With these new Florence XD systems we strengthen our high-throughput facilities for heterogeneous catalysis and make sure that our researchers keep having access to state of the art technology. We have an excellent experience with Avantium’s equipment and technical support and look forward to developing new catalysts by making use of these systems.”

Jelle Blekxtoon, Business Development Director of Avantium, says: “We are proud that KAUST has chosen for our newest product, the Flowrence XD, which offers high flexibility in operating window for multiple applications. Already for many years we have been successfully working together with KAUST. This underlines the value of our solutions making catalyst testing easy, reproducible and reliable. We look forward continuing and expanding our good collaboration and partnership for the coming years.”
