Avantium awarded tender to deliver three Flowrence® systems to ETH Zürich
Avantium is proud to announce that it has been awarded a tender concerning two Flowrence® XD systems and one Flowrence® XR system for the Catalysis Hub of ETH Zürich (CAT+ East). These units target high-throughput catalyst testing on a broad set of chemistries, including CO2 and methane valorization. In addition, the two XD systems are combined and assembled into a unique inert design allowing the evaluation of moisture and oxygen-sensitive catalysts.
Prof. Dr. Christophe Copéret, Head of the ETHZ Laboratory of Surface and Interfacial Chemistry, and Chair of the CAT+ East Steering Board, said: “The Catalysis Hub East aims to become an open-access infrastructure devoted to catalysts discovery and development with a data-driven approach. It combines state-of-the-art automated and high-throughput experimentation with data analysis by machine learning and artificial intelligence methods. These Flowrence systems will be a key instrumentation for catalysts testing capability targeting sustainable fuels and chemicals applications.”
Dr. Paco Laveille, Managing Director of the Catalysis Hub East: “The Catalysis Hub has selected Avantium’s offer for the low footprint of the units, the inert system design, the simplicity of the unit operation and maintenance, and the performances of the microfluidic technology. We are looking forward to the realization and validation of the equipment on-site”.
Bart van Limpt, Business Development Director at Avantium, said: “We are pleased to support the team of ETH Zürich in their journey to implement high-throughput catalyst testing at their site. Of course, we are proud to be given the trust in our Flowrence technology. We are looking forward to delivering the units and initiating a long-lasting collaboration with the Catalysis Hub East.”
